Thinking of you

Hey everyone! Happy Friday :) In this month's class, the ladies got to make three different types of projects. They got to make a card, the hybrid MDS2 frame that I shared with you earlier this week (click here if you'd like to check it out) and a scrapbook envelope that I will share with you soon, so stay tuned! Here is the card.

This clean and simple card was inspired by the birthday card that I made for my cousin last week. Click here to check it out. In class, we got to play with the new Papillon Potpourri stamp set (Clear 123759, Wood 123757) and the new Elegant Butterfly punch (127526). And for the colors, we used Very Vanilla, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petal and Raspberry Ripple. I am really liking the new 2012–2014 In Colors :)

And I just LOVE how SU has products that coordinate so well together! I love when you can grab a stamp set, stamp an image then grab the matching punch to cut out the image like we did with these butterflies on this card. Then we used dimensionals to pop them up and added a little bling to each of them for a little extra something.

And for the sentiment, 'thinking of you', I grabbed my trusty Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (Clear 127802, Wood 115370). Gotta love that stamp set for all the sentiments. There are 24 of them! And it's now available in Clear mount, not just Wood mount :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Friday!!!!

Fabric Butterfly Key Chains

Hello everyone! With this awesome clearance on SU fabric, I can't help but want to try out new projects! My friend Marita is full of wonderful ideas :) While I was working on some fabric flowers, she showed me some pictures on Pinterest of butterflies that people were making with fabric! How awesome is that?!?!?! Of course I was super excited because I love butterflies and I'm loving this SU fabric sale :D

Here are my first couple of tries at making fabric butterfly key chains. I gave one to my cousin for her birthday and the other one to my mom because she's my mommy :)

For these butterflies, I used one of the patterns from the Candy Cane Designer Fabric (121715), a button from the Subtles Designer Buttons (119745) and some Natural 7/8" Cotton Ribbon (127844). You can get key rings from most craft & hobby stores.

Check out the fabric sale that is going on in the Clearance Rack. Just click on Clearance Embellishments & Fabric to take advantage of this great deal. Who can resist 99 cent fabric?!?! Here are the four designer fabrics that are in the clearance rack. Check out the cute patterns that you can play with.

I can't wait to try out more projects with fabric! If you've made any projects using SU fabric, send me some pictures. I'd love to see them!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day :)

MDS2 frame

Hello! I just love MDS2! There are so many possibilities and so many projects that you can make. For class this month, I decided to have a hybrid project for the ladies to work on. And it was so easy! I took this template that I already had and tweaked it a bit. I changed up the colors, moved around the embellishments a bit and added those lovely butterflies in the upper left :)

I then just printed out the project and had the ladies slide it into a simple stand alone frame. Of course, I had to use the Big Shot to add a little extra something to the project :)

And one of the awesome features of MDS2 is that most of the images and punches are real size! To add those butterflies in the upper corner, I cut them out using the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die (114507) and then I added a Large Pearl Basic Jewel (125577).

I told the ladies in class that they can add some pictures to this frame, too. I kept those little squares in the template but added a little color as place holders.

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!!

Look who's turning.... 1

Hello! Here is a card that I made for a little guy who celebrated his 1st birthday over the weekend. The stamp set that I used is now retired but I still love using this set for birthday cards that I make for the young ones :) And what's great about this set is that you can use it for both boys and girls. But since this card was for a little guy, I used mainly blues, greens and browns for the color combination.

Of course, I had to use the Big Shot to cut out a number one for his special birthday and I added one little bow to go with the #1.

And look at those cute animals! Now do you see why I think this set is so much fun?!?! Look at that ostrich... look at that hippo... and look at that octopus! So adorable!!!!

Oh and I also used the Stripes Embossing folder (123128) and the Scallop Edge Border Punch (119882) to add some texture and dimension to the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day :)

Happiest Wishes

Happy Monday everyone! Here is a clean and simple card that I made for a friend who celebrated his birthday over the weekend. Unfortunately, my husband and I missed the birthday festivities since we couldn't make it to the party :(

I used that new Chevron Folder (127749)... again! hehehe. Like I've said before, this has become one of my new faves :) And for the 'Happiest Wishes on your Birthday' sentiment, I used a retired Hostess set. What's great about SU Hostess sets is that you can earn them for free!!! Email me to find out how :)

And since I used the color combo of Whisper White, Baja Breeze and Early Espresso, I decided to also use some Natural Linen Thread (104199) to add one of those new Naturals Designer Buttons (127554). Gotta love those SU embellishments :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your week!!

welcome, baby

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday! Today, I'd like to share a card that I made to welcome a new baby :) My friend gave birth to a baby boy last week and we sent off this card to welcome the new addition to their family. We can't wait to meet the new little one :)

I decided to go with a natural type color scheme with Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and Lucky Limeade. And I even used some Natural Linen Thread (104199) to tie the tag onto the card. I used the now retired Fox & Friends stamp set (Clear 118565). That little monkey is just oh so cute! And the 'welcome, baby' sentiment is from Petite Pairs (Clear 122497, Wood 122495) which is another stamp set that I use ... A LOT! hehe.

I also wanted to use the Natural 7/8" Cotton Ribbon (127844) and the new Chevron Folder (127749). I really like that texture pattern. It's one of my new favorites :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

For Myra

Happy Birthday Myra!

Today is my cousin's special day and we want to wish her a very very HAPPY BIRTHDAY :D I know the celebrating started earlier this week and we're pretty bummed that we missed out on some of the birthday adventures, but I know the party will keep on going and hopefully we'll get to see her today :)

So, while flipping through the current SU catalog (as I often do on a daily basis), I saw a card that totally reminded me of her! As soon as I saw it, I knew that I had to case it :) And here is the birthday card that I made for her.

Just like me, she LOVES butterflies! hehehe. So, I had to use the new Papillon Potpourri stamp set (Clear 123759, Wood 123757). All the butterflies are so pretty! And what's even better than that?!?! Well, let me tell you.... there is a matching punch!!!! How awesome is that! The new Elegant Butterfly punch (127526) coordinates so beautifully with this stamp set. They are both must haves! Or I'm just biased ;) hehehe.

I also used the Perfect Polka Dots Folder (117335) and the Scallop Trim Border punch (118402). For the colors, I went back to one of my favorite sets, the 2011-2013 In Colors (122993). And for the 'happy birthday wishes' sentiment, I grabbed the Petite Pairs stamp set (Clear 122497, Wood 122495). What's great about this stamp set is that you not only have something to stamp on the front of the card....

.... you also have a matching sentiment to go on the inside of the card! And there are so many other sentiments that you can use for all kinds of occasions. This stamp set has come in handy so many times :)

I hope you have a wonderful day today cousin!
And I can't wait to hear stories about your birthday adventures.
Hope all your birthday wishes come true!!

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone and thanks for stopping by :)

HELLO

Hello! hehehe. Here is another Legacy Room card. Isn't it so cute?!?! Click here to check out Niki's card and some pictures of the actual card sitting on a typewriter in the SU Legacy room. This card was so fun to make. And so easy! The only thing that probably took some time was cutting out each letter. Sorry, no punch or die... just old fashioned scissors ;)

I love this new alphabet stamp set. As soon as I saw the new Morning Post Alphabet stamp set (Clear 126592, Wood 126590) in the 2012-2013 SU catalog, I just HAD to get it! And to get that 'spritz' look, we actually used a soft bristle toothbrush and some reinker. Genius, right? It's a little messier than using the Color Spritzer Tool (107066) or the new Stampin' Spritzer (126185), but it's oh so much fun!

And we also used the Perfect Polka Dots Folder (117335) and the Scallop Edge Border punch (119882). And to add a little bling, we used the mini scallop circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309) and a Rhinestone Basic Jewel (119246).

Enjoy your Friday and thanks for stopping by!

HEARTFELT

Hey everyone. Here is another card that we got to make in Niki's class last week. Check out Niki's card here. This card was also inspired by the Stampin' Up! Legacy Room. I love the look of this card! I love the antique feel and that background stamp. I think I need to bump up the En Français background stamp (109521) a little higher on my wish list ;)

And that HEARTFELT stamp is so lovely, isn't it? It's from the new Layered Labels stamp set (Clear 127072, Wood 127070). Another great thing about that stamp set is that it also coordinates with the new Apothecary Accents Framelits (127003), Large Oval punch (119855) and 1" Circle punch (119868). I just love how SU has stamp sets that coordinate with Big Shot products and punches. Amazes me all the time :)

And of course, I love the butterflies on this card. But then again, I just love butterflies :) We used the new Elegant Butterfly punch (127526) and the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die (114507). And to give it that extra little something, we add some Dazzling Details (124117) on the edges of the bigger butterfly. We also got to use a Large Pearl Basic Jewel (125577). Those are so much fun!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by :)

For Dawn

Hi everyone! Here is a card that I made for one of my stamping friends. I feel bad that I missed her actual birthday especially since we were all hanging out in one of Niki's Thursday night classes! But I was able to give her this card during last week's class. I've had the new Serene Silhouettes stamp set (Clear 127324, Wood 127322) for awhile and it was so much fun playing with it when I made this card.

For the colors, I used Perfect Plum (Card stock 101889, Ink pad 126963) and Certainly Celery (Card stock 105125, Ink pad 126958). I also used Early Espresso ink (126974) for the sentiment. And I added some flower buttons from the Subtles Designer Buttons pack (119745).

The 'make a wish' sentiment is from the new Sweet Essentials stamp set (Clear 126457, Wood 126455). This is quickly becoming one of my favorite stamp sets for all the different sentiments that you can use to make various cards for different occasions. I also like the font :) Simple and sweet, right?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Little Fabric Flowers

Hello! Remember how I mentioned that I went a little crazy with the SU fabric sale? Who can resist a 99 cent sale?!?!?! Not me! hehehe. Check out the Clearance Rack for this awesome fabric sale.

After making some fabric flower key chains, I decided to play with the scraps and make some mini hair clips. Click here if you missed the key chains and would like to check them out. Here are some of the mini flowers that I made.

I showed these to some of my stampin friends and they also suggested that they can be used on cards. Great idea, huh? I can't wait to try it out! Stay tuned for that project ;) Here are some close ups of the mini flower fabric clips.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by :)

Family Reunion Banner

Hey everyone! A friend of mine asked me if I could make her a banner for her family reunion. Of course I said yes :) Banners are so fun to make! And there are so many possibilities! For her family reunion banner, she wanted something simple with their family name and the year of the reunion. Here is what I came up with.

For the colors, I went with pearl, red and black. And for the backing, I used 5x7 corrugate board to give the banner some weight in case there was some wind since the reunion was held at a park. I hope it helped :) I also used the largest frame from the Labels Collection Framelits set (125598). And for the letters and numbers, I used the now retired Serif Essentials Bigz Alphabet Die Set.

Here is the banner set up at the reunion. Fun, right?!?!

Thanks everyone for stopping by and have a great week :)

FOR YOU

Happy Sunday everyone! Here is a card that we got to make in Niki's "Legacy Room Inspired" class last week. Click here to check out the actual room. Niki got to take a picture of the the actual card laying right in the middle of a lovely desk. Pretty cool, huh? I hear the Legacy room is amazing! I can't wait to see it at next year's Convention! Are you going? If not, you totally should go! ;)

We got to use the new Fancy Fan folder (127751) and the Little Leaves Sizzlits (114511). And silly me, I totally goofed on this card. I was supposed to only emboss the top part of the card and leave the bottom part smooth. I guess I wasn't paying attention. hehe. Which is funny because this embossing technique is what I used on Aly's baby shower invitations. Stay tuned for those :)

And I just love framelits and punches. Especially when they coordinate with stamp sets and layer so well together like this. Don't you? We used the Apothecary Accents Framelits (127003), the Scallop Oval punch (119856) and the Large Oval punch (119855). And we used the new Everything Eleanor stamp set (Clear 124164, Wood 124162) and the new Layered Labels stamp set (Clear 127072, Wood 127070).

Oh, and I found some bling from the Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246) on the table and thought... why waste it? hehehe. So, I added it to the FOR YOU sentiment. Who doesn't like adding a little bling every now and then? ;)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

1st Birthday

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday :) So, I'm posting a little later than usual today because... well, I was up all night crafting. Living up to my Craft-somniacs name ;) And ok ok ok, I must admit, I was also watching The Hunger Games. hehehehe. For those who thought I would be the one to get my copy right at midnight, you were right! My husband was so sweet, he went and bought me the movie and the best part.... I ran out of glue dots and he actually went to the craft section and bought me some! How sweet is that? I so heart that guy :)

So, with The Hunger Games playing, I continued working on projects for my sister-in-law's baby shower :D I will share those projects with you soon, so stay tuned! But today, I'd like to share a birthday card for a special little girl's 1st Birthday :) My stampin friend Chan's little girl is celebrating her first birthday today and here is the card that I made for her.

I used the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch (118874), the 1-3/4" Circle punch (119850) and the new Typeset Alphabet Bigz dies (127553) to layer the number one on the card. And of course, added a cute little flower button from the Subtles Designer Buttons pack (119745).

And for the Happy Birthday sentiment, I used the Bring on the Cake stamp set (Clear 121958, Wood 121899). I know, what's new, right? hehe. But I'm telling you, this set is a must have because there are so many different ways to wish that special someone a happy birthday :) And I added more flower buttons. I just love those designer buttons.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!!
