Hello everyone! Happy last day of 2012!!!! Can you believe it? Wow how time flies! Speaking of time flying by, my husband and I received a Save the Date card awhile back and I've been meaning to make a card to send out to the happy couple. Here is a card that I made for my husband's childhood buddy and his lovely fiance.
I used one of my favorite designer series paper - Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (126154). I love all the patterns and all the colors. And I must confess, it has been really hard for me to let go and use it on projects. But it's getting a little easier now that I can get more from the Clearance Rack :) No, I don't have a problem ;) hehehe.
I also just got the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies (129021) and wanted to use one of the frames on this card as the background for the butterflies that I cut out using Beautiful Butterflies Stampin' Up! Bigz Die (114507). I embossed the larger butterfly with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (127819) and the smaller butterfly with the hearts folder from the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders pack (125601). And to keep the butterflies together, I used one of the Antique Brads (117273).
The "congratulations on finding each other" sentiment is from the A Word For You stamp set (Clear 120528, Wood 117032). I must admit, after reading the stories that they wrote about each other on their wedding website, I did cry a bit because it is so sweet how they found each other! Such a lovely story :) And I knew that I wanted to use this sentiment just for them because we are so happy that they did find each other.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day! Enjoy the last day of 2012. Take some time to reflect on all the good things and lessons learned and here's to a wonderful year in 2013!!!! :D

For Niki
Hey everyone! So I've been so behind on giving people their birthday cards and I feel sooooo bad :( I even keep forgetting to drop cards in the mail so that people could get their birthday greetings on time! Shame on me! Tisk-Tisk-Tisk. And it seems like it's been so long since I've been to one of Niki's classes. But today I get to hang out with the stamping gals and I get to give Niki her birthday card in person.... 10 years later!!!! hehehe. Here is the card that I made for her.
Again, I so love the Big Shot! So, of course, I used the Big Shot for several elements of this card. I used the Woodgrain folder (127821) on the base of the card and the Perfect Polka Dots folder (117335) on one of the labels from the Labels Collection Framelits (125598). The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the You’re Amazing stamp set (Clear 126722, Wood126720) and I cut it out using one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits (127003).
I also added some Antique Brads (117273) to the framelit with the sentiment. I even went outside of my comfort zone and tried the whole pleated ribbon technique. I've tried it on other cards, but I guess the more I try it out, the more comfortable I'll get with playing with ribbon.
Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by :)

Happy Birthday
Hello and happy Friday everyone! A friend of mine asked me to make her a card for her mom's birthday. As much as I love making cards, I also love when my friends and family ask me to make one for them to give to someone special. It's such a great feeling :) Very humbling that someone would ask you to make a hand made card for a special occasion. Here is the card that I made for her.
It's been awhile since I used the Oval Accent Bigz Clear die (127005) so I decided to use it on this card. To somewhat match the pattern on the Comfort Café DSP (126898), I used the Square Lattice Folder (119976). And I used the Blossom punch (125603) to make this flower with one of the Antique Brads (117273) holding it all together. I also wanted to use some of those pretty Large Pearl Basic Jewels (125577) so I added several on the card, too.
The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment is from the Perfectly Penned stamp set (Clear 122892, Wood 122890), which is one of my favorite stamp sets. I just love the font and how pretty it is. And I have to talk about that fower again. Isn't it such a great 3-D look? I love how it pops out like that. And it's another technique that I learned in one of Niki's classes. You should really check out a class one of these days :) Click here to check out her lovely creations.
I hope my friend's mom enjoys her special day!
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by :)

Some things...
... have to be believed to be seen.
Hey guys! Here's another card from Niki's Black and White class. I really do like the look of black and white cards. Clean and Simple and oh so elegant, too. And that First Edition Specialty DSP (121878) is so versatile. It goes well with all different kinds of cards.
The tree is from the Lovely As a Tree stamp set (Clear 127793, Wood 115026) and we added some bling to the top. Doesn't it sort of look like a Christmas tree? Pretty cute, huh? The Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246) are a must to have on hand just in case you want to add some bling to a card or project.
And the 'Some things have to be believed to be seen' sentiment is from the Just Believe stamp set (Clear 120453, Wood 116948). We tore one side of the card stock to give it that extra textured look. Then added an Antique Brad (117273), which is one of my favorite embellishments.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Sunday! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

black and white just for you
Hello and Happy Friday! Here is a lovely black and white card from Niki's "Black and White Class". Isn't it so pretty? I love the butterflies! and I love her classes! Check out her October schedule here.
We got to play with Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die (114507), the Scallop Trim Border punch (118402), the Boho Blossoms punch (119858), some Antique Brads (117273) and some Victoria 5/8" Crochet Trim ribbon (118481).
The 'just for you' sentiment is from one of my favorite sentiment stamp sets - Teeny Tiny wishes (Clear 127802, Wood 115370). And not sure if you can see it since it's very subtle, but we also used the En Français background stamp (109521). I finally got it myself! It's been on my wish list FOREVER!
Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day :)

Happy Birthday
Hello everyone! Here is the birthday card that I made for Camille's birthday. I'm giving it to her a day late, but that's OK, nothing wrong with extending the birthday fun ;) The DSP I used is retired but I like the color combo - Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder and Early Espresso. And I just love the 2011–2013 In Color ribbon so I had to use some Lucky Limeade 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon.
The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set (Clear 121958, Wood 121899). This is one of my favorite stamp sets for birthday cards and projects because of all the different ways to wish someone a happy birthday. There are even stamps that you can use for the inside of cards. Really a must to put on your wish list :)
And to make the ruffled and layered flower, I used the Blossom Punch (125603) and to keep the pieces together, I used one of the Antique Brads (117273). These brads are another product of SU that is on my faves list. If you're a fan of embellishments, add these to your wish list, too!
I hope Camille likes her card and I hope she enjoyed her special day! I also gave her birthday gift with this card so stay tuned! I'll be sharing her gift with you guys soon :)
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Paper Flowers
Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday :) I recently learned how to make paper flowers in Niki's Paper Flower class. We got to make a variety of flowers using different techniques. Stay tuned and I'll share all the different flowers that we got to make.
This class came at a perfect time because my mom was asking me to help her make some new decorations for her home. She saw some paper flowers in the 2012-2013 catalog and I offered to make some for her. And these are the flowers that I came up with.
For all of the flowers, I used Perfect Plum card stock (101889). I made the larger flowers using the Blossom Petals Builder punch (121808). With the four different sized petals, you can make several different kinds of flowers.
Here are a couple close ups of the different flowers that I made. And for these flowers, I used the Antique Brads (117273) to keep them together. I love these antique brads and I must admit, I have hoarded them for awhile now, but for my mom, I busted them out to make this project for her :)
And I learned how to make these two different flowers in Niki's Paper Flower class. They are so much fun to make!
These flowers are one of my favorites to make :) Who knew that you could take a scallop punch and create these flowers? How cool is that?!?!
And I used the Blossom punch (125603) to make this flower in the center. I must admit, in class, this was one of the flowers that was a little tricky for me to make. I decided to keep practicing because I really like the look of it. But, I think I still need a little more practice. hehe.
I can't wait to see where my mom will put these flowers. I hope she likes them!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day :)

Love is Like a Butterfly
Hi everyone! Happy Sunday :) Today, I want to share a card that I made for my husband's parents. They celebrated their wedding anniversary last week. I wanted to go with something clean and simple but also wanted to feature some Stampin' Up! product that I just LOVE! hehehe. I went with Elegant Eggplant card stock (105126) since purple is my father-in-law's favorite color and used some matching DSP (117154).
And I used the new Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die (127005) which is one of my new favorite dies because of all the different ways that you can use it. For this card, I used it as a window to feature a new embossing folder that will be coming out in our new Holiday catalog! Are you excited!?!? Stay tuned for more news on that :)
And of course, I used a lovely Antique Brad (117273) to keep the two butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die (114507) together.

On the inside of the card, I used two different stamps from two different stamp sets. The Love is a butterfly sentiment is from the now retired Butterfly Prints stamp set and the Happy Anniversary sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (Clear 127802, Wood 115370), which is my ever so trusty sentiment stamp set for any project.
I hope they had a wonderful day together celebrating such a wonderful marriage :)
Thanks everyone for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
