A Happy Father's day card

Hello! Here is another card I made. I went with browns and blues for this clean and simple Father's Day card.
It's been awhile since I've used the Argyle embossing folder (127750) and I thought it would make a nice touch on this card. I like how the texture just pops on the Midnight Muse card stock (126843). And we sponged the pieces of the card with one of the new in colors - Baked Brown Sugar ink (131174).
The "Happy Father's Day" sentiment is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set (Clear 122652, Wood 128547). We also got to play with some of the new Neutrals Designer Buttons (130031). I do miss the designer buttons from last year's catalog, but these are quickly growing on me. Especially for masculine cards which I need to make more of!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend :)

Thank You

Hello! And Happy Friday :) So, don't know about you guys, but as soon as the new Stampin' Up! 2013-2014 catalog went live, I just HAD to place my first order and yay that lovely UPS guy came by yesterday to drop off a box of new and fun goodies :D They were floating around the top of my new Wish List so, I got the new 2013-2015 In Colors - baked brown sugar, strawberry slush, crisp cantaloupe, pistachio pudding, coastal cabana - and when my husband asked me to make him a thank you card for his manager, I knew I wanted to try them out.
OK, so I must admit, I am a HUGE fan of Stampin' Up! punches and when I saw this punch, it was a must have for me. The new Pansy punch (130698) is so cute and of course, I had to get the coordinating stamp set. Stay tuned for a project using the Flower Shop stamp set (Clear 130942, Wood 130939). And another thing that I love about SU is their bundles! So, if you like the punch and the stamp set, you can get them both at a 15% discount by ordering the Flower Shop bundle (Clear 132726, Wood 132727).
Oh and check out some of the new ribbon! I used some Pistachio Pudding 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim (130020). This new ribbon is so pretty! I can't wait to use them on other projects. And I do like the new Very Vintage Designer Buttons (129327) so I added a few to the Pansy flowers. The "Thank You" sentiment is from the Four You stamp set (Clear 130538, Wood 130535).
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Friday :)

thank you card

Hello! Here is a thank you card for you guys today. My husband's aunt is so sweet. She always remembers to send a card for special occasions. A birthday card came in the mail awhile back and my hubby is so cute because he asked me to make a thank you card so that he could send it to her.
I just love this DSP. Such pretty colors and fun patterns. And I had to use some designer buttons and baker's twine to add some embellishments to the card.
And of course, I added a banner. hehe. But this time, I did something a little different and made the top half plain so that I could stamp the "thank you" sentiment and used DSP for the bottom half of the sentiment.
Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Your Kindness means so much

Hey everyone! Today, I'd like to share a card that we got to make awhile back in one of Niki's Thursday night classes. I've been wanting to share this card with you guys for awhile and I'm glad that I came across it recently because it was a fun one to make.
We got to use the Stampin' Write markers to color in the image of the Tweet Leaves stamp (128111). If you like this stamp, click here to check out the SU Holiday Catalog and order yours soon :) We also used the Woodgrain folder (127821), which you can also find in the holiday catalog.
We also got to add a Brushed Bronze Designer Button (127833) and tied it on the card with some Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine (125572).
The 'Your Kindness means so much' sentiment is from the From My Heart stamp set (Clear 126557, Wood 126555), which is another great stamp set to own since one of the images coordinates with one of the framelits. And you know me, I love anything that has to do with the Big Shot :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!!

happy Birthday wishes

Hi! Today I'd like to share a card that my friend requested for her dad's birthday. Guy cards are such a challenge for me sometimes because I have to step outside of my comfort zone. No bling. No frilly ribbon. No flowers. And what?! No butterflies! hehehe. But when my friend asked me to make a card, I was excited! I knew that I wanted to go clean and simple and that I wanted to use the Comfort Cafe DSP (126898) because of the great colors and patterns that are perfect for a masculine card.
After I chose to go with this pattern of DSP, for some reason I was drawn to circles and stripes. So, I took a strip of Soft Suede card stock (115318) and ran it through the Big Shot (113439) with the Stripes folder (123128). Then when I went for the circles, I decided to create a window and then add a border around it. Yeah, there was some punching fun with this card.
After I got the windows and circles and stripes the way I wanted, I stamped 'happy Birthday wishes' from the Petite Pairs stamp set (Clear 122497, Wood 122495) inside the window. Oh and to go along with the circles that I had in my head, I added a few Neutrals Designer Buttons (119743) for fun. It's hard for me to let go of embellishments sometimes but for my friend's dad's card, I used three buttons :)
Okie dokie! Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

christmas cheer

Hello and happy Friday! Here is a card that we got to make in my Holiday card making class this month. If you didn't get to join us this time around, hopefully you can join us next time :) Email me if you would like details on future classes. For this month's class, we got to make 6 cards and I'll be sharing the rest of the cards with you soon. So, stay tuned!
For this card, we used the Button Buddies stamp set (Clear 122737, Wood 122735). Isn't that snow man so cute?!?! Just add one of the buttons from the Neutrals Designer Buttons (119743) and add some Baker's Twine if you like (page 172) and you're done! I also love how this stamp set has an image for so many different occasions. I shared a baby shower card earlier this week. Click here if you'd like to check it out.
For the rest of the card, I used the Stripes Embossing folder (123128) to add some texture. Then, I used the 3/16" Corner punch (119871) to round out all the corners of each layer of the card. And the 'christmas cheer' sentiment is from one of my favorite sentiment stamp sets. The Sweet Essentials stamp set (Clear 126457, Wood 126455) has so many other sentiments that you can use for all kinds of occasions. And isn't the font so sweet? hehe.
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day and be safe out there if you decide to brave the elements of Black Friday shopping!! ;)

For a Baby Shower

Hello everyone! Here is another card that a friend from work requested. When she said she needed a card for a baby shower, I knew that I wanted to use the Button Buddies stamp set (Clear 122737, Wood 122735). That stamp set is so much fun and I love how it coordinates with the Stampin' Up! designer buttons.
Isn't that baby rattle so dang adorable!?!? And when you change the color of the designer button, there are so many possibilities! I used a Marina Mist button from the Subtles Designer Buttons pack (119745). I also like to add some baker's twine on the buttons and for this card, I used Early Espresso baker's twine (123124).
The 'congratulations on your new baby' is from the Friendly phrases stamp set (Clear 126151, Wood 126149). This is one of my favorite stamp set for special occasion sentiments. I like the combo of the different fonts. So cute and so sweet.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day :)
