happy Birthday wishes

Hi! Today I'd like to share a card that my friend requested for her dad's birthday. Guy cards are such a challenge for me sometimes because I have to step outside of my comfort zone. No bling. No frilly ribbon. No flowers. And what?! No butterflies! hehehe. But when my friend asked me to make a card, I was excited! I knew that I wanted to go clean and simple and that I wanted to use the Comfort Cafe DSP (126898) because of the great colors and patterns that are perfect for a masculine card.
After I chose to go with this pattern of DSP, for some reason I was drawn to circles and stripes. So, I took a strip of Soft Suede card stock (115318) and ran it through the Big Shot (113439) with the Stripes folder (123128). Then when I went for the circles, I decided to create a window and then add a border around it. Yeah, there was some punching fun with this card.
After I got the windows and circles and stripes the way I wanted, I stamped 'happy Birthday wishes' from the Petite Pairs stamp set (Clear 122497, Wood 122495) inside the window. Oh and to go along with the circles that I had in my head, I added a few Neutrals Designer Buttons (119743) for fun. It's hard for me to let go of embellishments sometimes but for my friend's dad's card, I used three buttons :)
Okie dokie! Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday

Hello! Here is a birthday card that my friend asked me to make for her. I'm a big fan of this layout so I find myself turning to it every now and then. I try to change elements up as much as I can. And of course, if I can use that lovely Elegant Butterfly punch (127526), I will :)
The Framed Tulips Folder (121809) adds such a pretty border around the card. And isn't that Primrose Petals card stock (126841) so pretty? I am a big fan of the new 2012-2014 in-colors. Which is also why I decided to use Summer Starfruit card stock (126839) and Gumball Green card stock (126840) for this card :)
For the center of the card, I used one of the labels from the Labels Collection Framelits (125598). For the leaves, I used the Bird Builder punch (117191). I also added some flowers using one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309). And for a little bling I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246).
The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set (Clear 121958, Wood 121899), which is a great stamp set to add to your wish list because of all the fun ways you can wish someone a very special happy birthday :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Merry Christmas

Hello! OK, so just a couple more holiday cards for you guys. Here's another one that the ladies got to make in class. This one is another case'd card. This one was actually inspired by a card that I saw in the SU Holiday catalog. I had to change it up a bit because I didn't have all the supplies I needed, but I liked how it turned out.
I've had the Early Espresso Core'dinations Colorcore Card Stock (127848) for awhile now and I've been wanting to use it ever since I got it. I was glad that I decided to make this card for class because it's such fun card stock to work with. We embossed it with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (127819) then used the Stampin' Sanding Block (129367) to create this pretty cool effect.
The 'Merry Christmas' stamp is from the Greetings Of The Season stamp set (Clear 128033, Wood 128030). I also used the Merry Minis Punch Pack ( 126882) and some of that pretty Champagne Glimmer Paper (127885) to add those little ornaments.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Snowflake Merry Christmas

Hi everyone! This is another card from the Holiday card making class that I had this month. I case'd this card from one of the Holiday Soiree cards from our most recent stamp camp. I used a similar layout but just changed it up a bit. I also went outside of my color box and used Always Artichoke (105119) for one of the layers on the card.
And to coordinate with the Cherry Cobbler (119685) card base, I used the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (126904) from the Holiday Catalog. The 'merry Chrismtas' sentiment is from the Petite Pairs stamp set (Clear 122497, Wood 122495).
I used the Snow Flurry Bigz Die (127813) to create the three different sized snowflakes. And after I layered all three together, I added one of the Large Pearl Basic Jewels (125577). I'm not sure if you can see it, but I also debossed the Always Artichoke card stock with the Perfect Polka Dots Folder (117335).
Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

CAS Merry Christmas

Hello! Today I'd like to share another card from my Holiday card making class. This clean and simple card used a strip of pretty SU fabric, which was inspired by one of the cards we got to make in one of Niki's Thursday night classes. Actually, this whole card was case'd from that card :) And of course I'll share that card with you soon. It's super cute.
The Merry Christmas stamp is from the Christmas Lodge stamp set (Clear 123769, Wood 123767). I love how it has that old fashioned christmas feel to it.
And you know, the Deck The Halls Designer Fabric can still be found in the Clearance Rack. So grab some up before they are sold out! You still have time to place an order and get it before the holidays, too. Click here if you'd like to check it out. 99 cents! Can't beat that!
There was also a whole lot of sponging going on! Not only on the edges of the card, but also on the textured portion that was embossed using the Petals-a-Plenty Folder (116824). I love how this technique gives this card an additional vintage look and feel.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend :)

christmas cheer

Hello and happy Friday! Here is a card that we got to make in my Holiday card making class this month. If you didn't get to join us this time around, hopefully you can join us next time :) Email me if you would like details on future classes. For this month's class, we got to make 6 cards and I'll be sharing the rest of the cards with you soon. So, stay tuned!
For this card, we used the Button Buddies stamp set (Clear 122737, Wood 122735). Isn't that snow man so cute?!?! Just add one of the buttons from the Neutrals Designer Buttons (119743) and add some Baker's Twine if you like (page 172) and you're done! I also love how this stamp set has an image for so many different occasions. I shared a baby shower card earlier this week. Click here if you'd like to check it out.
For the rest of the card, I used the Stripes Embossing folder (123128) to add some texture. Then, I used the 3/16" Corner punch (119871) to round out all the corners of each layer of the card. And the 'christmas cheer' sentiment is from one of my favorite sentiment stamp sets. The Sweet Essentials stamp set (Clear 126457, Wood 126455) has so many other sentiments that you can use for all kinds of occasions. And isn't the font so sweet? hehe.
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day and be safe out there if you decide to brave the elements of Black Friday shopping!! ;)

For a Baby Shower

Hello everyone! Here is another card that a friend from work requested. When she said she needed a card for a baby shower, I knew that I wanted to use the Button Buddies stamp set (Clear 122737, Wood 122735). That stamp set is so much fun and I love how it coordinates with the Stampin' Up! designer buttons.
Isn't that baby rattle so dang adorable!?!? And when you change the color of the designer button, there are so many possibilities! I used a Marina Mist button from the Subtles Designer Buttons pack (119745). I also like to add some baker's twine on the buttons and for this card, I used Early Espresso baker's twine (123124).
The 'congratulations on your new baby' is from the Friendly phrases stamp set (Clear 126151, Wood 126149). This is one of my favorite stamp set for special occasion sentiments. I like the combo of the different fonts. So cute and so sweet.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day :)

Perfectly Penned Birthday

Hello! Here is a birthday card that I made for a friend. She asked me to make a few cards for her and this is one of them. I went with Perfect Plum and Very Vanilla for the color combo. I wanted to try and go simple with just a couple of colors. I also used the Everything Eleanor stamp set (Clear 124164, Wood 124162), which is one of my faves because it's just so pretty :)
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Perfectly Penned stamp set (Clear 122892, Wood 122890). I like how swirly the font is. And to cut it out, I used the dies from the Apothecary Accents Framelits (127003). Then I added a couple of Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246) to accent the framelit.
I used the large swirly stamp and one of the pretty flower stamps from the Everything Eleanor stamp set to create this pattern on the base of the card. And I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246) to the center of the flowers to add a little bling to this CAS birthday card.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Gingerbread Folks

Hey everyone! I know it's taken me awhile to share all of the lovely cards that the ladies got to make at our recent stamp camp, but here is the last of the Holiday Soiree cards :) It's a Christmas one and isn't it so adorable?!?!?! The Scentsational Season stamp set and Holiday Collection Framelits Dies are both from the Holiday Catalog. Click here to see the catalog. Grab your holiday catalog wish list stuff soon before the holiday catalog ends!
And isn't this little gingerbread guy so cute? You can even add a little flower using the itty bitty bits punch pack to make it a cute little gingerbread gal :) And you can use the little scallop punch from the same punch pack to take a bite out of one of the gingerbread folks like we did here. Cute, right?
And look what they did to create a little rolling pin! It's the word window punch and the jewelry tag punch. Pretty cool! I love when you can use your punches in different ways.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by :)
