8 for $8 Class

Hello! Here are a couple of projects from Niki's recent 8 for $8 class. These cards are clean and simple and were fun to make. I had fun getting together with all the other ladies and chatting while making these projects.

This one is sort of like a mini manila envelope where you twist the linen thread around the circle to tie it closed.

And this card used a different technique for stamping. We used clear blocks to create the square shapes. Pretty neat, huh?

Stay tuned for the rest of the 8 for $8 cards that we got to make.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy a relaxing Sunday :)

Wish Big

Happy Birthday Janice!

Good morning everyone! Today is a special day because it's my friend Janice's birthday :) She is one of my oldest friends. And not old meaning age old, because I still think turning 25 is pretty young ;) But old meaning I've known this girl for years! We went to high school together, we were roomates once upon a time, we are sorority sisters and she was one of my bridesmaids at my wedding. So yeah, lots of years of friendship:) And even though we don't see each other or talk as often as we used to, she's like family and is still near and dear to my heart.

This is the card that I made for her and we sent it out in the mail a few days ago so I hope that she gets it in time. If not, it's on it's way!

I used different stamps from the Creative Elements Stamp set. It's a little faint, but I used one stamp to create the background on the paper. I stamped a few flowers and cut them out. Yup, cut them out, no matching punch for this set! I also used the border stamp to outline the sentiment. The Wish Big sentiment is from the now retired Short & Sweet stamp set.

And here is the gift that I made for her. Yup, another bracelet :) Have I mentioned that I am loving this new obsession of mine? hehe. I can just sit there and make jewelry for a few hours and I'd be a happy camper :) Anything that enables my creative obsession is OK in my book!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Saturday!!

Wonderful You

Good morning and TGIF :D

This is the third make and take that the ladies got to work on at my launch party. I love the new Oval Accents Bigz Clear Die and saw it being used in a different way and wanted to case it. I love anything Big Shot and I love when I can use something outside the box.

And we got to use some new DSP and the new in-colors. The Comfort Cafe DSP is quickly becoming one of my faves these days because of the versatile patterns. One side can be more feminine and the other side can be more masculine. So imagine the possibilities!

Also, to add a little texture, we used the Stripes Embossing Folder. And I love using the small flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and use it on almost everything! If you couldn't tell already. Hehe. And the Wonderful You sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set, which is one of my faves at the moment, too :)

Here are the supplies I used to make the card:
Soft Suede Card Stock (115318)
Raspberry Ripple Card Stock (126842)
Summer Starfruit Card Stock (126839)
Comfort Cafe DSP (126898)
Raspberry Ripple Classic Stampin' Pad (126859)

Oval Accents Bigz Clear Die (127005)
Stripes Embossing Folder (123128)
Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309)
Pearl Basic Jewels (119247)
Loving Thoughts stamp set (Clear 125845, Wood 125843)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Friday! Have a wonderful weekend everyone :D

For All You Do - Butterflies

Good morning everyone!

Here is another card that we made in Niki's FOR MOM class (I know, I know, I'm supposed to be thinking about Father's Day projects but I couldn't help it, I had to share because of the beautiful butterflies!). Click here for her post of this card. She also made this card in different colors, too. So cute! And she also credits Andrea Walford for the inspiration of this card.

And I love the Beautiful Wings Embosslit! I love butterflies and this embosslit is perfect! It not only die cuts butterflies in various sizes, but it also embosses them with different textures, too :) I put some on the front of the card and added some on the inside. Cute, right?!?

If you like making cards and projects and hanging out with ladies crafting and chatting, click here to check out Niki's June class schedule. And email me to reserve your spot for my monthly technique class. My next class will be Saturday, July 28. Stay tuned for more details.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day :)

Friend to Friend

Good morning everyone and Happy Wednesday!

Here is another make and take from the Catalog Launch party. This card featured a new stamp set (Betsy’s Blossoms) from the new catalog, new ribbon (1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon), new DSP (Floral District DSP) and the new 2012-2014 in-colors (Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple).

To add a little dimension on the card, we cut out the bird and used a dimensional to pop it up a bit. Yes, we actually used scissors to cut out the bird. Sorry, there's no matching punch ;) And we added a little bling on the bird's eye and in the center of the flowers. And the FRIEND TO FRIEND sentiment is from one of my fave sentiment stamp sets - Teeny Tiny Wishes.

We did get to use three different in-colors and the ladies got to try out the new Firm Foam Stampin' Pads. I must say that I have become a HUGE fan of these new stampin pads :) What's awesome about them is that they provide better ink coverage for your stamps and light-tap stamping produces flawless images! The ladies were amazed how lightly they could tap the stamps and still get full ink coverage :) If you haven't tried out the new Firm Foam Stampin' Pads, then you definitely should add it to your To-Do List!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your hump day :)

Thank You

Good morning!

Today I would like to welcome the newest member of our team to the SU family. Thank you Christina for joining our team and for signing up with me! Congratulations on becoming one of our newest Demonstrators :)

Here is the Thank You card that I made for her. To make this card, I used an embossing folder, a new framelit with a matching stamp, an itty bitty punch and those lovely basic pearls.

Sorry for how the colors came out in the pic, but here is a close up of the new framelit from the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies set. And for the stamp, I used one of the labels from the Layered Labels stamp set. But for the sentiment, I changed it up a bit and used the Thank You from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. It's a must have because of all the different sentiments that you can use. And what's great about this stamp set is that in the new catalog, you can get it in either wood mount or clear mount!

If you would like to join our team and reap the rewards of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, June is a great time to do it because June Takes the Cake! Join the Stampin' Up! family during June, and not only will you get to choose up to $125 worth of products from the brand new catalog for your fully customizable Starter Kit, but you'll also get select products from our brand-new Patio Party Suite-all for the low price of $99! For You

Hello and good morning!

Happy Monday everyone! Here is one of the projects that the ladies got to make at the New 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! catalog party. This card featured several Big Shot items (and we know how much I love love love love the Big Shot! hehe), a new in-color (Gumball Green), new ribbon (3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon) and a new embellishment (Naturals Designer Buttons). Notice that new die? It's the new Oval Accent Bigz Clear die (127005) and a must have! Click here if you'd like to check it out.

And another must have, here's one of the new Apothecary Accents Framelits (127003). Click here to check out the other shapes in this framelits set. What's great about these framelits is that there are matching stamp sets! We used the Layered Labels stamp set (Clear 127072, Wood 127070) for that cute FOR YOU label stamp. I thought it would go well with the Perfect Polka Dots Folder (117335).

Thanks ladies for coming to the launch party! I had a great time hanging out, stampin, trying out new product and of course shopping & browsing through the new catalog :) Hope to see you guys in the next class. Stay tuned for the July class schedule for the date and theme.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and enjoy the start to your week!
