happy birthday

Hello! And look, here is another birthday card that the ladies got to make during class. I just LOVE banners and when I saw this hostess set, I knew that I just HAD to get it! So cute!!!! If you like it too, email me to find out how you can earn it for FREE :)
And of course, with these banners in mind, I wanted to try something a little different with the card. We adhered the happy birthday banners onto small Popsicle sticks. hehe.I hope they didn't hate me too much because it was a little different for the ladies to try and figure out but in the end I think their cards turned out great!
And to add some texture to the card we used the Chevron embossing folder. I love how the texture just pops on the card stock!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Happy Birthday to you!

Hello! Here is a clean and simple birthday card for you guys today. The ladies had fun making this card and it was so easy to make!
We got to play with the big shot, which is ALWAYS fun! hehe. We used to different embossing folders to add different textures to the card. Gotta love the Stripes embossing folder and the Polkadots embossing folder. I used them A LOT!
And the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!" sentiment was fun to play with too because not only did we get to stamp this cute shape, but we got to use a matching punch! Woohoo! Gotta love coordinating punches!!!!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day :)

Thanks much

Hello! Here is another card from my last class. Another CASE and clean and simple card but it was fun to make :) We also got to use some new product from the 2013-2014 Stampin' Up! catalog. I just can't get enough of that catalog. Every time I open it up, I seem to find something new to look at.
For this card, I used a different color scheme than I'm used to. We used Smoky Slate, Midnight Muse and Island Indigo. I do like how the colors go so well together. We also used the new Hexagon punch (130919) and what's great about this punch is that it has a coordinating stamp set. We used a couple of the stamped images from the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set (Clear 130956, Wood 130953).

If you like both of these products, you can get them at a discounted price by purchasing the bundle! (Clear Bundle 132724, Wood Bundle 132725). The "thanks much" sentiment is from the same stamp set. I also like this stamp set because of all the different types of hexagon shaped images and for the few sentiments that come with it.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Photopolymer stamp set

Hey everyone! Today, I wanted to share one of the SU photopolymer stamp sets. I bought the Bombs Away Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set (133411) awhile back and I've been waiting to use it. Once I do, I'll be sure to share the project with you.
I really like the sentiments of this stamp set. My husband even liked them and he said that I just HAD to get it. hehehe. They make me laugh and I can't wait to make a birthday card for that someone who will appreciate the humor in these sentiments :)
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

A Happy Father's day card

Hello! Here is another card that we got to make in class last weekend. For those ladies who needed one, this card was made just in time! I went with browns and blues for this clean and simple Father's Day card.
It's been awhile since I've used the Argyle embossing folder (127750) and I thought it would make a nice touch on this card. I like how the texture just pops on the Midnight Muse card stock (126843). And we sponged the pieces of the card with one of the new in colors - Baked Brown Sugar ink (131174).
The "Happy Father's Day" sentiment is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set (Clear 122652, Wood 128547). We also got to play with some of the new Neutrals Designer Buttons (130031). I do miss the designer buttons from last year's catalog, but these are quickly growing on me. Especially for masculine cards which I need to make more of! hehe.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend :)

Flower Bday Banner

Hello everyone! Happy Friday :) Here is the birthday banner that I made for my friend Catherine's birthday. Some of the gals and I were waiting and waiting and waiting for her to go home on Wednesday so that we could attack her cube and decorate it with tons of birthday fun. hehe. Stay tuned because I'll be sharing her birthday decorations, too!
I wanted to try something a little different with this banner. This time, I went with a flower theme. I used the Big Shot to cut out all the flower shapes, then cut out each letter and punched out the circles for the center of each flower.
Here is another close up of the each flower with a single letter on each. I went with Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie for the colors because those colors are so Catherine... bright and smiley :) And I used Whisper White to make the letters pop on each flower.
Oh and look.... surprise, surprise... a butterfly! Hey, I needed something to add to the spacer between Happy and Bday, so why not a butterfly? Hehe
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day :)

For Catherine

Happy Birthday Catherine!
Hello everyone! Here is the birthday card that I made for my friend Catherine. I wanted to give her a card that matched the birthday banner that I made her. So, don't forget to come back and visit to check out her banner :)
For her card and banner, I went with a flower theme and I knew I had to use Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie for the colors. They just reminded me of the birthday girl :) And when I think of flowers, of course I think of butterflies! So, I had to add a butterfly that sits in the middle of the flower. hehe.
I hope Catherine enjoys her special day and I hope all of her birthday wishes come true :)

Thanks everyone for stopping by and have a great day!!

Another father's day card

Hello! I promised the gals a couple of father's day cards during class just in case they needed a card or two for Father's Day. Both cards are clean and simple and for this card, we got to use the new Dictionary background stamp (Clear 130351, Wood 130348). And what's pretty cool about SU's background stamps is that you can now choose either clear mount or wood mount!
For this card, I went with greens and browns and the "Happy Father's Day" sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (Clear 127802, Wood 128748).
And another favorite of mine... banners :) I had the ladies cut out three different sized banners and on the Whisper White banner, that is where they stamped the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Thank you

Hello! Over the weekend I got together with friends and family for a card making class. Everyone got to make 6 cards and this card is a case of a card that I case'd earlier this week. I just changed up the orientation of the card.
I used some Afternoon Picnic DSP (131390) and the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309) and the Elegant Butterfly punch (127526) and layered the pieces together.
For the "Thank You doesn't begin to say it all..." sentiment, I used the new Lots of Thanks stamp set (Clear 129690, Wood 129687). I also used some new colors on this card. I do like the look of the soft colors of Soft Sky and Smoky Slate.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Father's day cards

Hey everyone! Here are the Father's Day cards that we gave to all the dads in our family over the weekend. I went clean and simple with this year's cards and went with neutral colors. I made two different sets of cards.
I used the new Hexagon punch (130919) on this card and lined them up together so that I could stamp the sentiment across them.
For this card, I reversed the look by using the card stock for the background and added a strip of DSP behind the sentiment to help make it pop on the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week :)

Thank You

Hello! This thank you card is a CASE from the lovely magazine that we demo's get. I love when I get it in the mail because I know it will be filled with so much inspiration! And when I saw this card, I knew that I had to try and make it right away :)
The "Thank You doesn't begin to say it all..." is from the new Lots of Thanks stamp set (Clear 129690, Wood 129687). This new stamp set has quickly become one of my go-to stamp sets for thank you cards. There are so many different ways to express your thanks to someone.
I used the new Afternoon Picnic DSP (131390). This is one of my favorite DSPs at the moment. I also used the Elegant Butterfly punch (127526) and the small flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309).
I'm thinking I may even add this card to my class tomorrow! I know, so last minute! hehe. But we'll see. I'll share those projects with you guys next week :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a Happy Friday!!

always thinking of you

Hello! I was really excited to make this card because I got to use some of my favorite Stampin' Up! products - an embossing folder and a background stamp. I do need a little more practice because the background stamp is not really lined up with the coordinating embossing folder. hehe. And that's another thing that I love about Stampin' Up! - how most of the product coordinate so well with each other!!
I used the Express Yourself Hostess stamp set (Clear 130339, Wood 130336). Such a fun and useful stamp set because of all the sentiments and the fun font :) I also used another fave of mine - the small flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309) to add a little more dimension on the card.
I used the Wildflower Meadow background stamp (Clear 129168, Wood 129165). I stamped the image using Pear Pizzazz ink (131180) onto Pear Pizzazz card stock (131201). And to emboss, I used the new Wildflower Meadow embossing folder (129376). And if you like both products, you can save 15% by purchasing the bundle - Wildflower Meadow Bundle (Clear 132985, Wood 132735).
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

For our 2013 Grad!

Hey everyone! Today is a special day because my little cousin is graduating from High School! And she's graduating from the high school that I graduated from some who can even count anymore years ago! hehehe. I went with the school colors of Red and White for her card.
I used the Typeset Alphabet Bigz dies (127553) to cut out the numbers for her graduating year. Golly, 2013, my how time flies!!
For the different graduation sentiments and stamped image, I used the new Pure Gumption stamp set (Clear 126317, Wood 132067).
I like this stamp set for the variety of sentiments that you can use not only on the outside of the card, but for the inside of the card, too!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

Thank you

Hello!! Here is a clean and simple thank you card for you guys today. I am a HUGE fan of SU's background stamps and when I saw this one... I knew I just HAD to get it, so of course, I added it to my shopping cart right away :) Plus, I was a big fan of the First Edition Specialty DSP that just retired and this is a way for me to ease into letting it go.
I love the SU punches and I really do like the idea of different shapes of punches. The new Hexagon punch (130919) is a great addition to my collection. It's so much fun to just stack them randomly to create different looks.
I added the "thank you" sentiment on a banner that is peaking out from under one of the hexagon shapes. I used the Express Yourself Hostess stamp set (Clear 130339, Wood 130336). This is quickly becoming one of my go-to hostess stamp sets for sentiments. There are so many different messages that you can use on your projects!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day :)
