It's a GIRL!!

Hello everyone! The other day, I found out that my nephew is going to have a little sister!! How exciting :D I can't wait to start shopping!!!! hehehehe.

Here is the card that I made for them. I decided to go with a banner type card and remembered that I had these letters. Aren't they fun? All girly and swirly ;) And of course, I went with my favorite... butterflies :)

Here's another shot of the 'GIRL' banner. And there's a little peek of what I added on the inside.

I love the Beautiful Wings Embosslits (118138)! It not only die cuts cute butterfly shapes but it also embosses each one with different textures at the same time! Love it :D And did you notice the Labels Collection Framelits (125598)? So love those, too!! And of course the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309). I practically use it on every card these days. So, it's another must have ;)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!!

Card Portfolio

Hello everyone! Last night I got to hang out with my crafting gal pals and learned how to make a card holder with dividers to separate your cards. We got to purchase a Simply Scrappin' Kit of our choice and used it to create our own individual Card Portfolios. I chose the Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin' Kit (126927). Hmmm, did I choose this kit because of the butterflies? hehe. Um, maybe ;) Click here to check out Niki's post of her Card Portfolio.

Some of the ladies followed Niki's sample and others went their own direction. This is the one that I came up with...

Here's a closer view of the front of the card holder...

Here are the dividers that I made to put inside the card holder to separate the cards that I will eventually make ;)

And what's cool about the Simply Scrappin' Kit is that there is still plenty of DSP, cardstock and embellishments left over to create more projects!

Wouldn't this make a nice gift for someone? Or don't you want one sitting on your desk to organize your cards? Email me if you'd like to learn how to make one yourself :) It's fun and it's easy!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Friday :D

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary
to
my brother and sister-in-law!!

Hello everyone!

Four years ago today, my family witnessed an amazing and beautiful event. My brother married his amazing wife in a beautiful garden setting amongst close friends and family. I couldn't believe it, my little brother was getting married! We laughed and we cried as they stood in front of everyone and exchanged their vows. Then we clapped and cheered as their officiant announced the newly married couple.

Here is the card that I made for the couple celebrating their 4th wedding anniversary.

But, I so dropped the ball on mailing it out earlier in the week so that they would get it on time. Ooops! But, I will of course hand it to them the next time we visit.... along with their anniversary present that's something linen or silk related.

I had so much fun making this card because I got to use some of my new product :) I got to use the new Fancy Fan Embossing Folder (127751), a couple of the labels from the Labels Collection Framelits (125598), the new Elegant Butterfly punch (127526) and the new Memorable Moments stamp set (Clear 126682, Wood 126680). I also decided on the Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral color combination that I'm a huge fan of :)
I hope they enjoy their special day!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by :)

This To Shall Pass

Hello everyone! So, today, I must admit, I am cheating a little bit. I did go to Niki's From the Heart Stamp set feature class last week, but for some reason, I didn't craft. I know! Gasp! Whaaat?!?! No Way! I guess it was one of those days, but all I wanted to do was just hang out and chit chat with the gals. And one of the fun topics of the night was... who should play Christian Grey if they do make a Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Hehehe. I know, very productive, right? ;)

Here is one of the cards that the other ladies got to make in class. Niki was nice enough to have kits ready for me and she took pictures too! So that I can have them when I actually get to finally sit down and make the cards from class. Stay tuned! I really will kick things into gear and get working on those cards.

Click here to check out her post of this card. And click here to check out her class schedule. Come join us! They're fun! You get to work on projects and chat with the gals :)

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

With Sympathy

Hello. These cards are always hard for me to make. Not because of ideas or designs, but because what they are for. A loss is always hard, but making a card, even if it is a small gesture, is something I try to do to let people know that there are those who care during such difficult times.

I made this card for a colleague at work and had several of us sign the card to let her know that we were thinking of her and her family.

Thanks for stopping by and have a nice day!

For a New Home

Hey everyone! Here's a card that a friend asked me to make for her friend who just moved into a new home. I was excited because when she asked me for a housewarming type card, I thought of this stamp set right away! I've been wanting to use this stamp set for some time now and this was a great time to try it out :)

I used the retired Good Neighbors stamp set for the house. Another reason I've been wanting to use this stamp set is that it is a two-step stampin' stamp set. I also wanted to use a couple of the new 2012-2014 In Colors. So, for the house, I decided on using Gumball Green (126861) and for the rooftop, I used Midnight Muse (126860).

And for the sentiment, I used the 'congratulations' stamp from the Curly Cute stamp set (Clear 120510, Wood 117014). Don't you just love the swirliness of the font? Cute, right?

I also wanted to add some ribbon, so I used some of the retired Pretty in Pink Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. I know, I know, can you believe it? I actually used ribbon! Hehe. It's so hard for me to let go and use some ribbon, but for some reason, I wanted to for this card. And of course, I added some of my favorite embellishments - Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246) with the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309).

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day :)

Fancy Favor

Hello! Today I'd like to share a little big shot project. I saw something in the new 2012-2013 catalog and it inspired me to try something outside of the box.

So, I am a HUGE Big Shot fan and I practically love EVERYTHING Big Shot :) For this project, I used the Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die (115965), which is one of my go-to party favor dies. But, I changed it up a bit.

Like I mentioned earlier, I saw something like this in the new catalog and I simply had to try it out. So, I sat there, stared at the picture for a bit and then this is what I came up with. I used the Word Window Punch (119857) to create a slit in the front of the Fancy Favor. And I used one of the smaller labels from the Labels Collection Framelits (125598) to create the flap closure.

That's what the front and back look like. And just finish it up with whatever embellishments you like :) I used a Designer Button, which can be found on page 176 in the catalog. And some Baker's Twine, which can be found on page 172.

I love the Stampin' Up! catalogs. Not only do I love looking through the pages to add things to my ever growing Wish List, but I love the inspiration that I get from them, too! There are so many projects and you never know what may inspire you when you open up a catalog. If you'd like your very own New 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! catalog, email me :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday :D

Just For You

Hey everyone! This weekend we get to go to my goddaughter's ballet recital. And I wanted to make a card for her to tell her how proud we are of her. Can't wait to see her on stage :)

For her card, I wanted to use some new product from the 2012-2013 catalog. Of course, I just HAD to get the Floral Frames Framelits (127012) and the Chevron Embossing Folder (127749). And I am so glad that I did because they are so awesome!! Check them out...

What's so cool about the Floral Frames Framelits is that there are 5 layering dies (largest: 5-1/4" wide) and it coordinates the with Daydream Medallions Stamp Set on page 117. I love how Stampin' Up! has so many products that coordinate together :)

And I am loving the Chevron folder. It's quickly becoming one of my top go-to embossing folders. But of course, I do love most things Big Shot ;)

And I used one of the many sentiments from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (Clear 127802, Wood 115370). I'm telling you, it definitely is a must have for card making. And see how perfectly "just for you" fits in the Word Window Punch (119857) which also coordinates with the Modern Label Punch (119849).

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!!

Spidey Birthday

Hello everyone! Here is the birthday card that I made for my friend who's going to a superhero birthday party this weekend. The birthday boy is turning 4 and he's a big fan of Spiderman and I've seen so many versions of this card and decided to try it out. Here's my go at it.

Here's a closer shot of the web which was embossed with the Spider Web Embossing folder (120889) and I sponged it up a bit to make it pop.

And I finally got the Bring on the Cake stamp set (Clear 121958, Wood 121899) and wanted to use one of stamps. I colored in the word 'Birthday' with the Real Red Stampin' Write Marker (100052). I am a big fan of stamps that can be colored in :)

I also recently got the Typeset Alphabet Bigz dies (127553) and added the number 4 for the birthday boy. And for they eyes, I used the wings from the Bird Builder punch (117191).

I hope he likes his birthday card and I'm sure he'll have a great time at his superhero birthday party. How exciting!!

Enjoy your day and have a wonderful weekend :)

Superhero Birthday Party

Hey everyone! Today I'd like to share some Cricut fun. My friend asked me to help her with her friend's son's Superhero birthday party. I was so super excited when she told me about it :) So, this little guy loves Spiderman, Superman, Batman, The Flash and Green Lantern, just to name a few. My friend said that the kids will have capes and masks. How fun is that?!?!?!

I made the following superhero logos to put on each of the capes. I'm also making smaller versions for their masks.

And since Spiderman is the birthday boy's most favorite, I made this one for him.

I can't wait to see pictures of the kids in their superhero capes and masks :)

Hope you enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday With A Cherry on Top

Hi everyone! I know I've been sharing a lot of these 8 for $8 cards with you, but I can't help it :) Now, this card had a few things going on for it. There's some two-step stampin and big shot action going on. Actually, it's more like three-step stampin since the holder base, holder clear lid and the chocolate sweets are all separate stamps. I must admit, I was a little intimidated and had to practice a little before actually stamping on the card. Hehe.

And the card itself was fun to make! We used the new Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die (which I love and is a must-have for all those big shot fans out there) to cut out the fun shape of the card and finished it off with a bow on top. And of course, there's that flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, which is another must have set of punches :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day :)

Make a Cake - Happy Birthday

Hello! And yet another 8 for $8 card :) I love these classes because we get to go home with so many cards! These cards are clean and simple, but this one was a little tricky for me. I had to practice a bit before stamping on the actual card because it required some fancy two-step stamping.

And look at those banners... they are held there together with a couple of staples. Who knew! I never think to use a stapler anymore. Pretty cool, huh?

Here are the supplies used for this card:
Whisper White Card Stock (100730)
Real Red Card Sock (102482)
Patio Party DSP (126916)
Midnight Muse Classic Stampin' Pad (126860)
Make a Cake Stamp Set (Clear 126742, Woos 126740)
Family Reunion Stamp Set (Clear 122712, Wood 122710)
Word Window Punch (119857)
Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (117335)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Wonderful You Blossom Punch

Hi everyone! Here's another fun 8 for $8 card. I did have fun making this one because I got to play with one of my favorite Stamp Sets - Mixed Bunch (Clear 125537, Wood 125535) and one of my favorite punches - the Blossom Punch (125603)

We stamped a mixed bunch flower randomly to create the background on the Crumb Cake card stock (120953). Then we stamped the same flower image onto Whisper White card stock (100730) and punched it out with the Blossom Punch.

And the Wonderful You sentiment is from one of the stamp sets that has become one of my go-to sets. I seem to be grabbing it more and more these days. It is the Loving Thoughts stamp set (Clear 125845, Wood 125843).

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the beginning of your week!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day to all those dads out there :)

For those fathers who are here and those who are no longer with us, no matter where they may be, they will forever be in the hearts of those who they have touched. It's amazing to see how strong and supportive fathers can be and today we celebrate you.

Here are the cards that I made for my daddy, my brother and my father-in-law. For the cards, I went with clean and simple and blue this year.

And of course the Happy Father's Day sentiments are from two of my favorite stamp sets - Delightful Dozen (Clear 122652, Wood 122650) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (Clear 127802, Wood 115370)

Now go enjoy your day! Either celebrating with fathers or just enjoying a Sunday afternoon. Thanks for stopping by :)

Father's Day Card

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday!

I actually finished making the father's day cards for friends and family. And I even dropped them in the mail yesterday. Some may be a little late, but at least they are out the door and on their way :)

I cased Niki's CAS dad card and made two different cards. Click here to check out her version. Of course, her card is way cuter. Too bad I didn't have time to emboss, distress and sponge :(

Here is one of the cards...

And here is the other card.

So simple, easy and fun to make. Use some cool patterned paper, matching card stock and one of my go-to stamp sets, Delightful Dozen (Clear 122652, Wood 122650). I love this stamp set because it has most of the holiday sentiments. Another must have for card makers :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!!
If you're from our area... stay cool :) I hear it's going to hit the triple digits!! whoa!!

CAS dad

Hello everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

So, I must admit, Father's Day has been on my radar for some time now, but I have done absolutely nothing! I need to get crackin' on some cards! Here is a Clean And Simple card that we made in one of Niki's classes. Click here to check out her post about this card.

I'm thinking that I may just have to case this card because it was easy and fun to make. I'll just switch up the sentiment and use the Happy Father's Day stamp from the Delightful Dozen stamp set.

Stay tuned for the cards that I am going to make for the fathers that I know. I'm totally cutting it close but I'm hoping to get them done as soon as possible! hehehe.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Friday! T-G-I-F :D

Happy Birthday

Hello everyone!

Here is another card from Niki's 8 for $8 class. It's clean and simple and so cute and fun! I am a big fan of pennants and I like how this card has a different spin on them.

And here's a close up of those cute alternate pennants. And there's that flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack again. I love using it to add a little something to a card :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

Congratulations

Hello everyone! Here is a card that I made for a friend at work. He wanted to give his daughter a card for her graduation. He did mention that he wanted to have several words and phrases in the background so I went with the Friendly Phrases stamp set. I chose a few stamps and just stamped randomly. Then I was thinking of going with another graduation cap, but I decided to go a different direction. I decided to simply use a cute congratulations sentiment so I went with the Curly Cute stamp set. AND! I decided to use my new butterfly punch, which I totally LOVE :D

Here's a close up of those butterflies. Aren't they elegant? Maybe that's why it's called the Elegant Butterfly Punch :) As soon as I saw this punch in the new catalog, I absolutely KNEW that I just HAD to get it right away!

Here are the supplies that I used for this card:
Pool Party Card Stock (122924)
Island Indigo Card Stock (122923)
Whisper White Card Stock (100730)
Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad (126982)
Island Indigo Classic Stampin' Pad (126986)
Scallop Edge Border Punch (119882)
2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch (118874)
Elegant Butterfly Punch (127526)
Stripes Folder Embossing Folder (123128)
Friendly Phrases Stamp Set (Clear 126151, Wood 126149)
Curly Cute Stamp Set (Clear 120510, Wood 117014)

Betsy’s Blossoms Thoughts of You

Hello! Here is another 8 for $8 card that we got to make. We used 4 stamps from the Betsy’s Blossoms stamp set (Clear 126006, Wood 126004) and those lovely new in-colors - Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit.

Not sure if you can see the Summer Starfruit flowers, but this was my take on what Niki did on her card. She used the Betsy’s Blooms Wheel (126943). Instead of using the wheel, I decided to stamp the different flowers across the card in the same direction as the wheel stamp.

And for the sentiment, we used the "Thoughts Of You" stamp from the Loving Thoughts stamp set (Clear 125845, Wood 125843).

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day :)

Family Tree Shadow Box

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to share a project that I made for one of my aunts. I have several orders for family tree shadow boxes and here is the first finished project.

And look... here are those flowers made from one of my favorite punches... yup, the Blossom Punch (125603). And I just love those Antique Brads (117273)

I can't wait to get started on all the other family tree shadow boxes so I hope my family starts sending me more pictures :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your week!
